PASSING IT ON………..
GRATITUDE has always been an important word in my life. I am so grateful for so many persons on whose shoulders I have stood throughout my life as a musician, businessman, international entrepreneur, ordained interfaith minister and healthcare professional committed to “UNITING THE WORLD IN CAREGIVING”
When I was first asked to create the CARE FOR THE FAMILY CAREGIVING PROGRAM for EmblemHealth I immediately responded “”My background is theatre, theology and international tourism, I know nothing of healthcare or insurance”. “No” said Rev Dr Carl Flemister, the Chair of the Foundation which today controls EmblemHealth, “You are the one to do this.”
Taking a deep breath I did reply, “There is one observation I have made as an ordained minister and minister of music for many years and that is: I have buried more caregivers, than care recipients and if I can do something to change that COUNT ME IN!” AND THEY DID.
And immediately I began to reach out to experts, leaders, doctors, professors, researchers and family caregivers. To each of them and to others who have played critical roles in my earlier life and careers, I wish to express my gratitude………….
And to you, persons who have taken this series, please add you name to the list of persons I am thanking and now PASS IT ON!!!!
