Health care is a human right. To ensure that everyone has access to this fundamental truth, health systems the world over need to create efficient and cost-effective ways of providing quality care to an ever-increasing population. The three main “actors” in attaining quality care include the physician and other health professionals, the care recipient, and the family caregiver. Each is reliant on the other and each needs to acknowledge the roles and responsibilities of the other as the trilogy of humanity is served, body, mind, and spirit.
